Due to the new COVID-19 restrictions, tomorrow, Wednesday November 18, 2020 through the COVID-19 restriction timeline, the Village of Lawton Clerk’s office will be closed to the public. You can continue to make your payments online or use the blue drop box located in front of the office. Leaf Pick-up will run through the end of November or the first snowfall. As a reminder, please place leaves on the curb, not the street. Contact the Department of Public Works at (269) 624-6407 with any questions. Our supplier of the plastic leaf bags has discontinued production. While the Village is obtaining new supplies, you may use any biodegradable bag. You can find biodegradable bags locally at Adams Hardware Do It Center or online.
The Village Council Virtual Meeting for tonight (October 14, 2020) has been cancelled.
It is being rescheduled for October 28, 2020.

What should be done to make the Village of Lawton a destination? How can the street to be changed to make it more walkable? Where could there be new development, and how should it look? We want to hear from you! Join us on Tuesday, August 11th at the Lawton Fire Station, located at 125 N Main Street, to help us figure out how to Enliven Lawton! Your help is needed to help us create a new vision for downtown.
There will be a team here from Progressive AE (Grand Rapids) all day long to discuss what the future of Lawton might look like with the public and village leaders. Goals for the day include:
* Create a comprehensive vision and plan for downtown Lawton
* Define streetscape functions and elements that will create vibrancy
* Create momentum to revitalize downtown
* Identify community champions
* Establish implementation and phasing priorities
Arrive for the welcome between 8:30 and 9:00am. Community survey results will be shared, a walking tour of downtown, and an opportunity to vote for a new village logo will occur in the morning from 9am – Noon. Then, between 3:00 – 5:30pm there will be a discussion about community priorities and how land use and transportation work together to shape a downtown. Lawton’s vision and plans will be presented at 5:30pm. Everyone is invited to attend for the day, or just to come and hear the final presentation. Your involvement is important!

Village of Lawton is pleased to offer another method for its residents and customers to receive their monthly sewer & water utility bill(s). By submitting the form, your monthly utility bill will be electronically sent via e-mail to the address provided. If you choose to do so, this will eliminate paper bills.
